NYC Storage: Reasons to Consider Renting a Storage Unit

clock April 9, 2012 09:11 by author David Cohen

Moving to New York City can be a tedious process. You have to decide where you want to live, which borough suits you, and what housing provides quality and affordability. It is no secret that the cost of living in various areas of New York is expensive. Generally people rent an apartment in order to save money. Unfortunately, apartments are not always known for their upscale size and storage availability.  That is why it is best to consider alternative inexpensive NYC storage options.  Rather than trying to live with uncomfortable clutter, you can organize your space more efficiently by making good use of available storage options.

Prior to moving you should decide what items you want to keep with you and what items are unnecessary. Unnecessary items such as extra clothing and furniture, some of your knickknacks, and collections of books and magazines can be stored in a storage unit. This allows you accessibility to them anytime you need without having to worry about these items cluttering up your space. A quality NYC storage company can provide you with the assurance that your belongings will be kept safe. Always make sure and ask for a reference list before choosing a storage company.

There are many reasons why people choose to use a NYC storage company. The reasons why include:
1. A lack of space for all personal belongings

2. Temporary storage while in the process of moving

3. Convenience of keeping personal belongings safe

Whether you need storage on a long-term or short-term basis, you should always make sure you are getting the best possible rates. You can do this by comparing quotes as well as researching the quality of the company. The cheapest company may not be the most reliable. Then again, the most expensive company may not be either.

Office Movers: Reasons to Hire in NYC

clock February 22, 2012 14:18 by author David Cohen

Individuals are not the only ones that have to worry about the stress of moving.  Often a business will move to a new location in order to accommodate their growing size and potential expansion.  This business can be either large of small although small businesses tend to expand to larger buildings more often than larger businesses.  In order to make the transition from one building to the next, businesses often hire office movers to help them out with packing, loading, moving, and unloading.  Hiring a professional service also insures that expensive company equipment such as computers and fax machines will be handled with professionalism and care.

Moving from one business location to the next can be time consuming.  Unfortunately, this can have a financial impact on the business.  In order to save time, office movers offer full-featured services in order to reduce the amount of time it takes for the company to move from one location to the next.  This allows the business to get back up and running in a short of amount of time which decreases the financial loss associated with moving.  Professional office movers will provide proof of insurance and licensing to insure the quality of their service.

Hiring Divine office movers is one of the most cost effective ways for a business to move from one location to another in NYC.  The business can hire professionals to work the laborious part of the moving process for only a few days which can also reduce the cost of hiring a moving service.  Rather than paying employees overtime to move equipment, operational managers recognize the benefits of hiring a moving company.  Also, the quality of moving service compared to the amateur service that employees have to offer is a much better alternative.

Last but not least, Divine office movers have the right type of tools to move office equipment from one location to another.  Whether items need to be carried by a team of movers or transported using a dolly, the movers are more than capable of lifting heavy items and packing them onto a truck.  Any operational manager will realize that another reason this saves money is it reduces the risk of any employee injuries.  If an employee gets hurt while moving heavy office equipment, it becomes an unnecessary business expense that could have been avoided.  The only way to avoid this type of mishap is to choose professional quality service rather than trying to recruit the help of employees.

Short Term Storage: Reasons to Consider Using It

clock January 4, 2012 09:08 by author David Cohen

Short Term Storage: Reasons to Consider Using It

There are many reasons why a person would consider using short term storage.  Whether you are moving to a new location and need to store your items temporarily during your move or you are going on vacation and want to store valuable possessions to keep them safe, many NYC companies are willing to help you out.  The best thing about short term storage is that you can rent storage on a week-by-week or month-by-month basis or even day to day basis.  You can rent storage based on the length that you need it rather than wasting money on long-term storage fees.

Short term storage provides one of the best security options for people considering going on vacation.  While on vacation you do not want to worry whether your belongings will be safe in the event of a burglary.  Consider speaking with a local storage company about holding your personal belongings while you are gone.  This can include jewelry, electronics, and valuable collections.  Be sure to check the quality of the company through references and the Better Business Bureau to ensure that your belongings will be safe while in storage.

Another reason why short term storage is so convenient is that you can store your personal belongings while you are in the process of moving.  This is particularly ideal when having to move your belongings little by little.  If you cannot afford the help of a moving company you can rent a storage unit on a short term basis and move your belongings on your own time rather than having to pay out extra fees for a moving company or to rent a moving truck.  Be sure and compare rates of storage companies to make sure you are getting the best deal possible.

When considering the use of short term storage you should also ask the company about their rate packages.  Make sure that the company allows you to rent storage on a short term basis.  You do not want to have to worry about paying two or three months up front when you may only need to store your items for a couple of weeks.  You can make good use of short term storage options if you are willing to do your research prior to making your final choice.  This ensures that you are receiving quality storage service at an affordable rate based on your needs and wants. Divine Moving offers day to day storage, weekly and monthly storage options for any size or need!

Another GREAT review of Divine Moving and Storage sent to us by two super nice customers we moved last week in NYC-

We wanted to take a moment and let you know how incredible our experience was with your company.  All three movers were courteous, professional, FAST and superhero efficient.  We still can't believe they completed the entire job in just five hours.  We've bragged to people already about the experience and will be sure to recommend your company to any friends who need professional movers in the future.

Have a great holiday season, and thanks again for helping make our move so easy.

NYC Movers: How to Make the Right Choice

clock October 12, 2011 11:57 by author David Cohen

Making the decision to move can be stressful and emotional. However, choosing NYC movers to help you move does not have to be as difficult. In fact, following a few words of advice can make the process of finding quality movers like Divine Moving a piece of cake. Just remember to do your homework. You need to make sure that you are hiring a quality mover that is capable of handling your personal belongings with professionalism and care. When searching through a list of NYC movers remember to:

1. Ask for references and follow-up with each one

2. Check the company’s rating and complaint record through the Better Business Bureau

3. Perform price comparisons so you can make sure you are getting the best price possible

4. Make sure that the company of your choice is licensed through the Department of Transportation

5. Ask about company policies and services

If the company has a history of complaints through the Better Business Bureau, it is best to move on and find a better company with a quality rating. From packing to moving, NYC movers are willing to be there for you in order to reduce the stress of moving. Whether you are moving into an apartment, a house, or even a college dorm, moving companies will help you every step of the way.

Most moving companies provide a consultation meeting prior to your move. This allows them to determine your needs and affordability so they can create a plan that best suits you. Consulting with your moving company of choice allows you to understand the services that they offer as well. Do not forget to ask friends and family what NYC movers they recommend. The best evaluations come from those who have used these services in the past. Never assume that a company is being totally upfront with you either.

Do not be afraid to ask the company if there are any hidden fees and always read the fine print of any contract before you sign it. The last thing you want is to find unexpected charges on your credit card or checking account. A quality company like Divine Moving will be upfront with you from beginning to end.  If the company of your choice does not offer insurance or is unwilling to give you a list of references, you should take that as a sign that they are not a good company to go with, no matter what cheap rates they try and offer you.

Long Term NYC Storage: Importance Making the Right Choice

clock September 21, 2011 14:01 by author David Cohen

When renting long term storage space you want to be sure that the NYC storage company you choose is the right one for you.  Long term NYC storage is much different than short term storage.  You are actually storing your personal belongings for months at a time.  Therefore, you want to make sure that your belongings are going to be safe and taken care of.  This means that the company should be able to offer quality containment and insurance in the event that anything was to happen to your belongings.  With the right amount of time and research, you can easily choose a company for your long term storage needs.

When choosing a long term NYC storage company, making the right choice has a lot to do with the price quotes and quality that the company offers.  Perform reference checks on each company before making a final decision.  You want to use a company that has a history of pleasing their customers.  Is their service friendly and affordable?  Is the safety of your belongings guaranteed?  Do not be afraid to question the references as to the quality of service that they received.  Be sure and ask them if they would recommend the company to friends and family.  If the company did well, references would be more than willing to recommend them to others.

A quality long term storage company will offer you an upfront price quote that provides an honest rate.  Divine Moving and Storage doesn't have extra fees associated with your needs.  Be upfront with an approximate timeline pertaining to how long you will need to store your belongings.  This will allow us to give you a better price quote.

Trash disposal in NYC

clock May 3, 2011 12:46 by author David Cohen

In NYC in order to dispose of your large bulk items such as mattresses, microwaves, televisions, sofas, EZ chairs, wood tables, etc.. you need to follow NYC regulations.

Most of your items can be picked up from the curb with the rest of your recyclables, but read and follow the guidelines below to learn more.

Carpet / Rug - Old carpets and rugs must be free of all nails or staples, and securely tied in bales no more than 2 feet high and 4 feet long. Mattresses and Box Springs - To combat Bed Bugs, any person disposing of mattresses or box springs for DSNY collection must fully enclose these items within a sealed plastic bag.

Sanitation will collect up to six items from one address. Items must be placed on curbside between 5pm (4pm on Fridays from October to April) and midnight the night before your regular garbage collection day.

In order to find out the collection date log on to: http://gis.nyc.gov/gisapp/sn/sanitation.jsp

The Department of Sanitation will collect up to 6 bulky items from one address so make sure not to put it all in once. You are not allowed to discard appliances with CFC gas or Freon such as refrigerators – yes even the small ones, freezers, air conditioners and even some dehumidifiers. In order to dispose of those you must call 311 and set up an appointment for the sanitation department to pick it up.

NYC Relocation Company – The Life of a Real New Yorker

clock April 6, 2011 11:48 by author David Cohen

You’re not a real New Yorker until you’ve moved at least once. One of the constants in New York City is that things are constantly changing, and this includes people having to move around from place to place as their jobs, relationships, and other life situations change. This is what keeps NYC movers in business. If you’re looking for a solid NYC relocation company to help you move all of your possessions from your old place to the new one, you’ll need to know what to look for in a good moving company. Armed with some good recommendations, you’ll be sure to find a trustworthy company.

Since New Yorkers move so often and you’re surrounded by New Yorkers if you live in New York, then you should try asking people that you know and trust for recommendations. You’re bound to have at least one friend, neighbor, or coworker who can provide you with a glowing recommendation for an NYC relocation company. If you’re bold enough, you can even stop and ask someone on the street that you see in the process of moving how satisfied they are with their moving company. Just remember that fortune favors the bold, and that might give you the courage to ask.

If you’re not bold enough to ask a stranger how they like the NYC relocation company they’ve chosen, you can always resort to an internet search. There are plenty of customer reviews online of different businesses, and moving businesses are no exception. You can read firsthand accounts of the service that was offered to these people, and whether or not they were satisfied with the level of service they received. You can also look at many companies’ websites to see whether or not they’re licensed, bonded, and insured for this type of work in New York City.

Finding a good NYC relocation company will take a little effort on your part, but you’ll find that it’s well worth the effort to find a company that you can trust with your belongings. If you’re able to find a company that has the expertise and experience that makes a good moving company so trustworthy, then you’ve hit the jackpot. It shouldn’t be too difficult to find at least a few of these gems so that you can compare prices and get the best price for the best service. And maybe they’ll even congratulate you on becoming a real New Yorker.

Storage in New York City – Keep Your Stuff Safe

clock March 23, 2011 11:12 by author David Cohen

As people move through life, they tend to accumulate possessions. From old clothes to important documents, it can often be difficult to bring ourselves to discern which of these things we must keep safe and which of them we can afford to get rid of. Sometimes, we’re forced to get rid of things because we’re moving around from place to place. But before you throw out your prom dress or copies of your tax returns, perhaps you should consider an alternative to simply throwing out the things that won’t fit in your new home. By putting things in storage in New York City, you can keep the things you need without having to move to a bigger apartment to make room for them.

Finding storage in New York City is easy. Finding a good storage facility requires a little more thought and care. You want to make sure to choose a storage facility with good security so that your possessions don’t get stolen. You also want to find a storage facility that is soundly built and temperature-controlled so that your items don’t get damaged by water leaks or extreme temperatures. Finding the right storage facility means making sure that your possessions are safe from theft and damage.

The internet is often a great place to start your search for storage in New York City. Many storage facilities have their own websites, which outline the amenities that they offer and how they propose to keep your possessions safe. You can also read customer reviews online so that you can get firsthand information about what each storage facility’s service and facilities are like. You can even see pictures of the storage spaces so that you know what to expect from each facility. This is a great way to get your search started.

If you don’t trust internet results, another great way to find storage in New York City is to ask people you know and trust for recommendations. Chances are that, if you live in New York City, you know at least one person who has a storage facility, or has rented one in the past. Asking your friends, family, and coworkers for recommendations can be a great way to get inside information about the best storage facilities in the city. You can benefit from the wisdom of those who have gone before you into the maze of storage facilities and found the prize.

Manhattan Residential Movers

Manhattan Movers

Manhattan Movers – Moving on Up

One of the most interesting things about Manhattan is that there is a constant stream of people moving in and out of it. On any given weekend, you’re bound to see a moving truck pulling up to an apartment building somewhere in Manhattan, where someone is either moving out or moving in. If you live in Manhattan for any length of time, you’re probably going to move at some point, so it’s important for you to make sure that you have everything in place for your move, and that includes finding Manhattan movers who will take care of all the heavy lifting involved in a move.

If you’ve never had to find a moving company before, you can take advantage of the people in your life who have. They have firsthand knowledge of both the process and can probably even recommend the company they used to you, or at least let you know what companies to avoid. At some point in time, one of your neighbors, family members, friends, or coworkers must have moved, so they’re sure to be able to offer you some advice on finding Manhattan movers to help you safely transport your possessions from one home to another.

You can also try searching the internet for Manhattan movers. While you’re sure to get more search results than you bargained for, it can be good to remember what to look for: you want a moving company that is fully licensed, bonded, and insured to work in New York City. Most moving companies have websites these days that allow you to see their credentials. You can even check their business licenses with the state license board if you want to be thorough. And you can also read customer reviews of their service to see whether or not their service is consistently excellent.

Once you find three or more companies that you’d feel comfortable entrusting with your earthly possessions, you should find out how much they charge for their services and compare their prices. What works for getting the lowest prices on shoes, groceries and insurance, works for hiring movers, too. Simply compare the pric ing to find the lowest price. If the company you like best isn’t the lowest estimate, ask yourself whether or not you’re willing to pay extra for that additional level of excellence. You may find that it’s worth it to you to pay a little more to make sure that your possessions are in good hands.
